Coop WorkTerm Report Template

Notes on style

Co-op workterm reports should take the form of a scientific report on a specific problem and a solution. Narrative style, "what I did with my summer vacation", type reports are not acceptable. Students should avoid the first person, and avoid making subjective statements.

The Latex Template

For your workterm report, you'll need to use LaTeX, and it should follow a standard format. You will use the git source control system to checkout the template from a central repository add you workterm report to a new directory named with your username and the commit the changes back to the repo.

You will have to ask Ian for access to the repository. put a copy of your public ssh key here UserKeys. To clone the repository do

git clone git@github.com:hep-gc/coop-reports.git
if this command doesn't work you might not have access to the repo, ask Mike to be added.

Before commiting anything back to the repo make sure git is configured with the correct email so your commits will be tagged correctly

git config --global user.email "username@uvic.ca"
Make yourself a directory in the repo where you're workterm report will go and copy over the template
mkdir username
cp template/* username/
mv username/workterm-report-template.tex username/username-workterm-report.tex
Add all your new files and commit
git add username
git add username/*
git commit -a
Push the changes back to repository
git push origin master
